Lose Weight Diets - What To Consider

Diets are all the rage these days. They are everywhere, in newspapers, magazines, on talk shows, and of course on the Internet. Books about losing weight diets, stars and celebrities writing and recording exercise DVD's highlighting their successes - successes that a lot of us fail to achieve. Some nutritionists have even invented diet plans, they work for some people not for others.
But the truth is that an effective diet plan, a good lose weight diet or lose fat diet is one that achieves the dieters goal but that also provides sufficient nutrition. Too many diets exist in total ignorance of basic nutritional needs.
Whichever diet plan you choose to follow, make sure that the plan achieves the following:
1) What is probably the most important thing, is to enter a diet plan that makes you feel good. Trying to find a lose weight diet that promotes all of the points listed below is really important, however, finding a plan that you can stick to because you enjoy it and enjoy it's results is critical. A great way to achieve this is to share your lose weight diet with others. Doing things in a team, with the support of others will make a difference.
2) You must choose a diet plan that will allow your body to continue functioning as normal. Do not starve your body of the important nutritional elements required for successful daily function. All you have to do is watch your calorie-intake. It's an oldy but a goody! Ultimately this is the key to weight loss. Simply consume less calories than your body requires without starving yourself.
Losing weight doesn't mean that you will completely eliminate your calorie and carbohydrate intake, your body needs these food types as well as things like protein and fat to function. Make sure your lose weight diet includes the appropriate quantity of protein, fat, carbs, vitamins, minerals and ultimately, calories. What’s the point of losing weight or losing fat and end up looking like you need to spend some time in hospital to recover?!
A good lose weight diet plan will help you lose weight without damaging your health - that can't be the idea right?
3) Another feature of an effective weight loss diet plan is to make you feel full - not hungry. A lot of diets fail in this regard and falling off the wagon, binge eating through hunger, is common. Healthy snacking as an option in a lose weight diet gives the dieter the ability to keep the hunger pains at bay.
4) Keeping hydrated through any diet plan is essential. Once again, starving the body of something as important as water is going to end in disaster. Make sure that you are drinking sufficient quantities of water to allow your body to function healthily.
5) Exercise can't hurt! If you are physically able, regular exercise will help beat down those calories and boost your metabolism. An increased rate of metabolism means your body will need to burn more calories even when you are not exercising. It's also been proven to have a great effect on one's sense of well being, making you feel good. Don't worry, you don't have to run marathons to make a difference...
Combine all of the above factors into your thoughts when considering a lose weight diet and you have every chance of succeeding. Always consider consulting medical advice before embarking on any diet plan.

YOU: On A Diet Revised Edition

YOU: On A Diet Revised Edition: The Owner's Manual for Waist ManagementFor the first time in our history, scientists are uncovering astounding medical evidence about dieting -- and why so many of us struggle with our weight and the size of our waists. Now researchers are unraveling biological secrets about such things as why you crave chocolate or gorge at buffets or store so much fat.

Michael Roizen and Mehmet Oz, America's most trusted doctor team and authors of the bestselling YOU series, are now translating this cutting-edge information to help you shave inches off your waist. They're going to do it by giving you the best weapon against fat: knowledge. By understanding how your body's fat-storing and fat-burning systems work, you're going to learn how to crack the code on true and lifelong waist management.

Roizen and Oz will invigorate you with equal parts information, motivation, and change-your-life action to show you how your brain, stomach, hormones, muscles, heart, genetics, and stress levels all interact biologically to determine if your body is the size of a baseball bat or of a baseball stadium.

In YOU: On a Diet, Roizen and Oz will redefine what a healthy figure is, then take you through an under-theskin tour of the organs that influence your body's size and its health. You'll even be convinced that the key number to fixate on is not your weight, but your waist size, which best indicates the medical risks of storing too much fat.

Because the world has almost as many diet plans as it has e-mail spammers, you'd think that just about all of us would know everything there is to know about dieting, about fat, and about the reasons why our bellies have grown so large. YOU: On a Diet is much more than a diet plan or a series of instructions and guidelines or a faddish berries-only eating plan. It's a complete manual for waist management. It will show you how to achieve and maintain an ideal and healthy body size by providing a lexicon according to which any weight-loss system can be explained. YOU: On a Diet will serve as the operating system that facilitates future evolution in our dieting software. After you learn about the biology of your body and the biology and psychology of fat, you'll be given the YOU Diet and YOU Workout. Both are easy to learn, follow, and maintain. Following a two-week rebooting program will help you lose up to two inches from your waist right from the start.
With Roizen and Oz's signature accessibility, wit, and humor, YOU: On a Diet -- The Owner's Manual for Waist Management will revolutionize the way you think about yourself and the food you consume, so that you'll diet smart, not hard. Welcome to your body on a diet.

The "other" weight loss food log.

Stop me if you've heard this ... If weight loss is your goal, one of the most important things you can do is keep track of everything that you eat every day.

Nothing new, right?

Why would you do this, because, as you know, is the key to successful weight loss, eating the right number of calories (and get those calories from appropriate sources) and keeping a kind of log, list, or diary of what you eat every day is the only real way to do this.

While I totally agree with everything above, I feel there is actually a completely different weight loss food log which should be kept.

Most people do not lose weight because of the spiritual aspect of weight loss. Know what to do and decide to start doing it is simple, it is the motivation, commitment and determination to continue to do so, and doing it well, which is the problem.

The type of food log I mentioned above and know exactly what you eat every day is truly one of the keys to making the physical aspect of weight loss happen.

But it does nothing for the mental aspect.

That is why I propose that anyone who has ever had a diet setback due to a lack of willpower or motivation to start tracking a second log …

A log of everything you did not eat.

Everything you wanted to eat that day, but did not. Each bag of potato chips, candy bar, every French fry, each cookie, every fast food hamburger, each can of soda, every food you wanted to eat but did not because you know that you shouldn't.

Each food in that log is a victory for your willpower.

The next time that your favorite junk food is just sitting there calling with your name on it, instead of eating it, log it, and write them all down. If you have to, you can even have the time to find out the nutritional information of the (calories, fat grams, etc) just to get an even better idea of the junk that you just avoided eating.

If that motivates, you will be even more motivated when you look at this log as it gets smaller and smaller over time as your desire and interest in eating these types of foods gradually disappear.
Not to mention, the actual act of writing down the food/typing instead of eating it could act as enough of a distraction to the desire to eat.

So, although this idea will not actually cause you to lose any weight, it will serve as a way of improving your willpower and keep you motivated. And, without that you probably will not lose any weight anyway.

Milk: The Miracle Weight Loss Drink

Ah yes, milk. A good source of calcium, a good source of certain vitamins, and it is even a good source of protein. But, apparently, that's not all. Milk also happens to be the miracle weight loss drink.

Apparently.

I've been seeing lately this commercial for milk, or more specifically, the website 2424milk .com. maybe you have seen it? The 2424 "State" for "24 ounces of low fat or fat free milk every 24 hours."
Each commercial states pretty much the same thing that their website does. And that is that! Drinking milk, as part of a reduced calorie diet, you will lose weight.

Wait a minute. I repeat that....

The number of calories in your diet … reduce them and then drink 24 ounces of low fat/fat free milk a day ... it will lead to weight loss.

I do not know who is behind this entire ad campaign, but I'd put my money on the same geniuses who brought us Special K cereal: The miracle diet food. Their whole thing was that eating Special K cereal, as part of a reduced calorie diet, helps you lose weight.

Well, guess what? A McDonald's cheeseburger, as part of a reduced calorie diet, you lose weight.

Banging your head against a wall, as part of a reduced calorie diet, you will lose weight.

It is not the milk, it is not the Special K, it's not the cheeseburger, and it's not the head banging …, it is the part "reduced calorie diet". That's it. Consume fewer calories than your body needs and you lose weight.

Each food and drink on the planet could make the exact same claim that milk does here.

And just to clarify, I'm not anti-milk. Milk is far from bad. I'm just, ya ' know, anti-BS. And this 2424milk thing is pure BS. Actually, mention anything next to "exercise" and "reduced calorie diet" when discussing weight loss is BS pretty much every time.

Oh my God, you know what I realized? What if you eat your Special K cereal ...IN A BOWL OF MILK? Holy crap, you can immediately drop 50 pounds! There should really be a kind of warning about combining these products. "Can produce extreme amounts of weight loss … as part of a reduced calorie diet. "
