Lose Weight Diets - What To Consider

Diets are all the rage these days. They are everywhere, in newspapers, magazines, on talk shows, and of course on the Internet. Books about losing weight diets, stars and celebrities writing and recording exercise DVD's highlighting their successes - successes that a lot of us fail to achieve. Some nutritionists have even invented diet plans, they work for some people not for others.
But the truth is that an effective diet plan, a good lose weight diet or lose fat diet is one that achieves the dieters goal but that also provides sufficient nutrition. Too many diets exist in total ignorance of basic nutritional needs.
Whichever diet plan you choose to follow, make sure that the plan achieves the following:
1) What is probably the most important thing, is to enter a diet plan that makes you feel good. Trying to find a lose weight diet that promotes all of the points listed below is really important, however, finding a plan that you can stick to because you enjoy it and enjoy it's results is critical. A great way to achieve this is to share your lose weight diet with others. Doing things in a team, with the support of others will make a difference.
2) You must choose a diet plan that will allow your body to continue functioning as normal. Do not starve your body of the important nutritional elements required for successful daily function. All you have to do is watch your calorie-intake. It's an oldy but a goody! Ultimately this is the key to weight loss. Simply consume less calories than your body requires without starving yourself.
Losing weight doesn't mean that you will completely eliminate your calorie and carbohydrate intake, your body needs these food types as well as things like protein and fat to function. Make sure your lose weight diet includes the appropriate quantity of protein, fat, carbs, vitamins, minerals and ultimately, calories. What’s the point of losing weight or losing fat and end up looking like you need to spend some time in hospital to recover?!
A good lose weight diet plan will help you lose weight without damaging your health - that can't be the idea right?
3) Another feature of an effective weight loss diet plan is to make you feel full - not hungry. A lot of diets fail in this regard and falling off the wagon, binge eating through hunger, is common. Healthy snacking as an option in a lose weight diet gives the dieter the ability to keep the hunger pains at bay.
4) Keeping hydrated through any diet plan is essential. Once again, starving the body of something as important as water is going to end in disaster. Make sure that you are drinking sufficient quantities of water to allow your body to function healthily.
5) Exercise can't hurt! If you are physically able, regular exercise will help beat down those calories and boost your metabolism. An increased rate of metabolism means your body will need to burn more calories even when you are not exercising. It's also been proven to have a great effect on one's sense of well being, making you feel good. Don't worry, you don't have to run marathons to make a difference...
Combine all of the above factors into your thoughts when considering a lose weight diet and you have every chance of succeeding. Always consider consulting medical advice before embarking on any diet plan.

The "other" weight loss food log.

Stop me if you've heard this ... If weight loss is your goal, one of the most important things you can do is keep track of everything that you eat every day.

Nothing new, right?

Why would you do this, because, as you know, is the key to successful weight loss, eating the right number of calories (and get those calories from appropriate sources) and keeping a kind of log, list, or diary of what you eat every day is the only real way to do this.

While I totally agree with everything above, I feel there is actually a completely different weight loss food log which should be kept.

Most people do not lose weight because of the spiritual aspect of weight loss. Know what to do and decide to start doing it is simple, it is the motivation, commitment and determination to continue to do so, and doing it well, which is the problem.

The type of food log I mentioned above and know exactly what you eat every day is truly one of the keys to making the physical aspect of weight loss happen.

But it does nothing for the mental aspect.

That is why I propose that anyone who has ever had a diet setback due to a lack of willpower or motivation to start tracking a second log …

A log of everything you did not eat.

Everything you wanted to eat that day, but did not. Each bag of potato chips, candy bar, every French fry, each cookie, every fast food hamburger, each can of soda, every food you wanted to eat but did not because you know that you shouldn't.

Each food in that log is a victory for your willpower.

The next time that your favorite junk food is just sitting there calling with your name on it, instead of eating it, log it, and write them all down. If you have to, you can even have the time to find out the nutritional information of the (calories, fat grams, etc) just to get an even better idea of the junk that you just avoided eating.

If that motivates, you will be even more motivated when you look at this log as it gets smaller and smaller over time as your desire and interest in eating these types of foods gradually disappear.
Not to mention, the actual act of writing down the food/typing instead of eating it could act as enough of a distraction to the desire to eat.

So, although this idea will not actually cause you to lose any weight, it will serve as a way of improving your willpower and keep you motivated. And, without that you probably will not lose any weight anyway.

Milk: The Miracle Weight Loss Drink

Ah yes, milk. A good source of calcium, a good source of certain vitamins, and it is even a good source of protein. But, apparently, that's not all. Milk also happens to be the miracle weight loss drink.

Apparently.

I've been seeing lately this commercial for milk, or more specifically, the website 2424milk .com. maybe you have seen it? The 2424 "State" for "24 ounces of low fat or fat free milk every 24 hours."
Each commercial states pretty much the same thing that their website does. And that is that! Drinking milk, as part of a reduced calorie diet, you will lose weight.

Wait a minute. I repeat that....

The number of calories in your diet … reduce them and then drink 24 ounces of low fat/fat free milk a day ... it will lead to weight loss.

I do not know who is behind this entire ad campaign, but I'd put my money on the same geniuses who brought us Special K cereal: The miracle diet food. Their whole thing was that eating Special K cereal, as part of a reduced calorie diet, helps you lose weight.

Well, guess what? A McDonald's cheeseburger, as part of a reduced calorie diet, you lose weight.

Banging your head against a wall, as part of a reduced calorie diet, you will lose weight.

It is not the milk, it is not the Special K, it's not the cheeseburger, and it's not the head banging …, it is the part "reduced calorie diet". That's it. Consume fewer calories than your body needs and you lose weight.

Each food and drink on the planet could make the exact same claim that milk does here.

And just to clarify, I'm not anti-milk. Milk is far from bad. I'm just, ya ' know, anti-BS. And this 2424milk thing is pure BS. Actually, mention anything next to "exercise" and "reduced calorie diet" when discussing weight loss is BS pretty much every time.

Oh my God, you know what I realized? What if you eat your Special K cereal ...IN A BOWL OF MILK? Holy crap, you can immediately drop 50 pounds! There should really be a kind of warning about combining these products. "Can produce extreme amounts of weight loss … as part of a reduced calorie diet. "

Girls with heavy college roommates gain less weight

College is home to the dreaded "freshman 15" the weight many students get during their first year of school. Most kids try to avoid the freshman 15, but all that beer and pizza will creep up on you.
But if you're a girl, a new study says that you are less likely to gain weight during your first year if your roommate is heavy.

Presented at the annual meeting of the American Society of Health Economists, scientists discovered college girls with roommates that are above average weight, gain less weight during their first year, than female students with slimmer roommates. The difference was a half pound versus 2.5 pounds.

Researchers say heavier roommates are more likely to diet, exercise, and restricting access to food, and these practices may be "infectious."

Most of the time people choose friends and acquaintances that are similar to themselves. So the scientists randomly assigned roommates. Would you choose a person who you normally wouldn't be friends with, such as an overweight person? This is what the scientists challenged. And this person's unique habits can rub off on you.

Daily calorie intake-how many calories per day to lose weight?

Do you want to know how many calories you need to eat per day to lose weight? If so, congrats. Questions about your daily calorie intake is something only a smart person who really understands weight loss would do.

What I mean is, losing weight is literally ALL about eating the right number of calories per day. Proteins, fats and carbohydrates are certainly important as well (as are the food sources of these nutrients), but above all, your total daily calorie intake is the most important factor in allowing you to lose weight.

So, let's find out what your ideal daily calorie intake should be. All it takes is two easy steps ...

Fat loss works in principle like this ...

There are a number of calories that each person should eat per day to maintain their current weight. This is what is known as your maintenance calorie level. To lose weight, all you have to do is eat less calories per day than the amount of your "maintenance".

Create a calorie deficit and this ensures that your body will burn your own stored body fat for energy instead.

This is of course the scientifically proven fact of the Lose Weight Diet (and every other intelligent diet), just eat under your maintenance level on a daily basis.

So, that means that in order to answer the question of how many calories you need to eat per day to lose weight, you first need to find out what your daily maintenance calorie level is.

This maintenance level amount is based on a ton of factors that are specific to you and your body.
These factors include:

Weight, height, gender, age, activity level, and a whole series of purely genetic factors.

A pretty close estimate for you, use the quick and simple calorie maintenance level calculator, I've included it in the original article. Don't forget to come back here to step 2 directly after.

Okay, halfway done. Now that you have an estimate of how many calories you need to eat per day to maintain your current weight, it's time to figure out the daily calorie intake, which will allow you to lose weight.

Which means… it's time to make the deficit.

To do this, simply subtract 500 calories from your estimated daily maintenance calorie level.
So, for example, if your estimated maintenance level 3000 calories, you should now start eating 2500 calories per day. Simple as that.

You need to lose weight with a speed of approximately 1-2 pounds per week, which, of course, is the ideal recommended rate for safe, healthy, effective (and lasting) weight loss.

If you have 1-2 pounds loss per week, you're perfect. If you lose more or less than that (or not lose anything at all), simply add or subtract an additional 250 calories to look if you end up losing weight in the ideal case in the next couple of weeks. If you are, perfect! If you're not, please customize that until you are.

And then ... that's it. You're done.

Now you know how many calories you need to eat per day to lose weight.

Weight loss rate per week – how fast should you lose weight?

Now here's a topic that people seem to be absolutely obsessed with, the ideal weight loss percentage per week. Meaning, how fast should you lose weight?

And it's pretty obvious why people are so interested in getting this question answered. Very simply, knowing how slowly or quickly to lose weight you can you estimate when you can expect to finally reach your goal and the weight you want to have.

People are super obsessed with reaching that point (especially early on), so it only makes sense that they would be obsessed with figuring out when she finally will be there.

So, let's now answer that question.

To do this, I would like to take a look at the two recommendations I use when it comes to the ideal weight loss percentage per week ...

This is the most basic and common weight loss speed recommendation that you'll see. Lose 1 pound per week is in fact the textbook definition of safe, simple and healthy weight loss.
It's not too slow (that's disheartening) and it is not too fast (that is unnecessarily harsh and potentially dangerous). This is right smack in the middle, which seems to be just right for most people.

In addition to the most recommended weight loss percentage per week, it's also the most common. Its really not taking any external factors into account at all (such as you, your body, your preferences, your situation, how much weight you need to lose, etc.).

It's just a solid universal recommendation for how quickly the average person needs to lose weight. I find it fun.

Despite the fact that I love it and I have given this exact recommendation countless times before, it is no longer the first recommendation I give however.

I think your ideal weight loss percentage per week should depend upon you.
What I mean is, I think that someone who has more to lose weight can do so faster than someone who has less weight to lose, and vice versa.

This is useful for a ton of reasons. For example, people with more fat to lose are less likely to lose muscle due to the higher abundance of fat on their body. They can therefore handle losing weight faster without the same risk of muscle loss.

On the other hand, people who are leaner or just have less fat to lose have a higher risk of loss of muscle. because of this they must have a slower rate of weight loss.

Plus, this also takes into account how easy or difficult it will be. Meaning, it's a lot easier for a person with 100 pounds to lose losing faster than someone with 10 pounds to lose. They must take advantage of that fact, especially early on.

Let me throw some numbers that show you exactly what I mean ...

A person with an above average amount of weight to lose (example: 100 lbs) should lose at a rate of 2 pounds (or more) per week. A person with an average amount of weight to lose (example: 30 pounds) to lose at a rate of 1-2 pounds per week. A person with a lower than average amount of weight to lose (example: 10 pounds) to lose with a speed of 0.5-1 pound per week.
I explain these recommendations in much more detail (along with the best way of actually making them happen) in the Ultimate Fat Loss Program.

So, while the standard "lose a pound a week" recommendation is still a very fine moderate goal is to strive for, I think how slowly or quickly a person loses weight more should depend on them and be a little more personalized based on the exact amount that they need to lose.

Healthy Eating Habits for Home

Empty your cupboards, fridge and freezer of the foods that will get you in trouble, and instead, stock up on healthy and tasty options you and your family will enjoy. Your own in-house taste tests — ask your family to be involved, try new lower-calorie recipes and novel foods, and get a new (and healthy!) weight-loss perspective.

Substitute ingredients can be used in everyday cooking with healthier options! Here are some tips for trimming off excess fat and calories from your home-cooked meal:
Choose lean cuts of meat and trim all visible fat before cooking. Remove skin from poultry, before or after cooking.

Broil meat on a rack so the fat can drip away.

Choose low-cal fish and shellfish and a healthy cooking method such as baking, broiling, roasting, stewing, grilling of stir-frying.

Soups and stews in advance preparation and chill them at night, so you can remove all the hardened fat from the surface.

Be skimpy with fat. Nonstick pans or nonstick cooking spray to use with your regular pans.

Experiment with nonfat flavorings — orange or lemon juice in stews or on meat; citrus zest, soy sauce, fresh ginger, hot peppers, herbs or tomato sauce to add your favorite recipe.

Choose low-fat milk, nonfat, reduced fat and low-fat sour cream cheese and non-fat yogurt for recipes.

The best ways to lose weight

What do roller skates, hula-hooping, Zumba (Latin rhythm aerobic dancing), Kickboxing and swimming have in common? They're all fun — and they all burn calories while you're doing. Research shows that when you enjoy yourself, you're more likely to stick with an activity. And the more you stick with it, the more pounds you will drop.
"Pick things you as a family can do, such as cycling, walking, climbing, canoeing or bowling, to keep everyone striving for better health" says Kelli Calabrese, M.S., exercise physiologist and fitness consultant. Some local parks can offer fitness courses that you can tackle together. Choose a weekend to head to a park and go walking. Or check out a local farm and go apple picking. "Take a martial arts class. Everyone from experts to a novice together; you all start as a white belt and progress from there"says Calabrese. Or, simpler, throwing around a football, ice skating or take a long walk with the dog once or twice a week. Even if you're not the outdoor type, exercise can be more fun for the whole family. With Nintendo the Wii Fit game, even the most committed couch potatoes will enjoy standing on the Wii Balance Board and following instructions on the screen for yoga, aerobics, weight training — even hula hooping. You earn points for good performanceand feedback on how you can improve.

Always wanted to try in-line skating, golf, cross-country skiing or ballroom dancing? Would you like to join a softball league of football team or take yoga, tennis or Salsa dancing? Do it! You will learn something new and lose weight at the same time. Make sure that local community organizations or the YMCA for affordable classes. For even more fun, get a group of friends to learn a new, calorie-burning activity together.

If you don't have a full hour (or even half an hour) to spend every day, try divvying it up in different mini workouts during the day. "Dividing your typical training in half (say, 15 minutes in the hour and another 15 in the night), or even in third (10 minutes a session) isn't just a great way to get your brain out of boredom: it can give an even greater calorie-burning result" says fitness expert Myatt Murphy, author of the Body You Want in the time you have. "That's because you still only burn the same number of calories during exercise, but after each mini training, your metabolic rate will be increased by about 30 to 60 minutes, during which time you will burn more calories than usual. Doing two to three intense, smaller trainings, and your body can burn more calories than it would be from a single daily routine". Distribution of your training may even help you more become dedicated to losing weight. Researchers from the University of Pittsburgh found that people who exercised during 10 minutes several times a day can exert an average of 35 minutes more per week than subjects who were told to do the same amount of exercise in only one session per day.

After a sudden urge to get fit and lose weight, you should immediately go for a 60-minute walk or lift 15-pound dumbbells in the gym? Of course not! This will only increase the risk of injury. Even if you don't hurt yourself, you'll be convinced the exercise is too difficult and to shut down before you started really. The solution? Start slow and work on an intensity that feels comfortable. Begin with a leisurely 15 minutes and then work your way up in speed and duration. Then leave and try new activities, or water aerobics or tai chi, nature walks or bicycle ride. The best part: the entire time your body adapts to increased exercise, you are burning calories and on your way to drop the weight.

6 Weight-Loss Myths

myth: carbohydrates spell trouble for dieters.

fact: carbohydrates are actually an important source of energy. Even so, this does not mean that there is nothing to learn from low-carb diets. Carbohydrates are not all created equal, and to help you drop 5, you want to limit processed carbohydrates such as white bread and croissants. Instead, enjoy beans and whole grains, such as brown rice and whole grain bread. And don't forget, fruit and vegetables, which offer a range of nutrients and fiber, low in calories, and can help reduce the risk of obesity and heart disease.

The body also uses carbohydrates as fuel during exercise body burn fat — another great reason to keep bread (and cakes!) in the menu.

myth: frozen fruits and vegetables are less nutritious than fresh

fact: that's only true if you live on a farm. Produce picked at the peak of ripeness has more vitamins and minerals, but nutrient levels drop during shipping and storage. And they sink further if you add the days that the products lingers in your crisper. Frozen fruit and vegetables, on the other hand, usually ripe are picked and immediately flash-frozen, so that they most of their nutrients. For calorie control, you must select of frozen products with no added sugar, syrup, sauce and cheese.

myth: cholesterol in eggs is bad for you.

fact: 1 large egg has 213 milligrams cholesterol, and health experts suggest limiting dietary cholesterol to 300 milligrams per day or less (200 milligrams per day) If you have heart disease, diabetes or high LDL "bad" cholesterol. However, dietary cholesterol effect on blood cholesterol is still a mystery, and studies suggest that saturated fat and trans fat a much greater impact.

If you have cardiovascular disease, diabetes, or high LDL-cholesterol, you should eat no more than 2 eggs per week, but you can use as much protein as you need (the cholesterol is in the yolk). Try products such as Eggology On-the-go proteins (zap 95 seconds in the microwave and presto — a scramble filled with 13 grams of protein hunger-sating) and Egg Beaters.

myth: eating food in certain combinations will help you slim down

fact: seventy years ago, Good Housekeeping Research Institute experts declared this fad nonsense, and we say the same thing today. almost all foods are combinations of protein, fat and carbohydrates. In whole milk, for example, about 20 percent of calories from protein, 50% of fat, and 30% of carbohydrates. The digestive system has no problem dealing with different types of food at the same time.If you accidentally shed pounds on a "food combining" diet, it's just because you eat fewer calories overall.

myth: you can spot-reduce to lose weight

fact: to the contrary, the way to slimmer legs or a flatter stomach, as this is where you are that your body fat, increase your lean muscle tissue in your body. by working all your muscles, increasing your metabolism. Up your metabolism and watch your food, and you start looking the way you want.

myth: early morning is the best time to exercise

fact:  "The best time to exercise is when you can do," says Samantha b. Cassetty, M.S., R.D., nutrition Director at the good housekeeping Research Institute. You get the same payouts and essentially the same number of calories when you work out what is important to do regular. some studies have shown that first thing-in-the-morning sportsmen and women are more likely to stick to a regime than those who begin late in the day, but that is because it is probably easier to postpone an evening training until tomorrow so whether you have more time or energy in the morning, noon, or night, the most important thing is you do.

Chile supplement unlikely to help dieters burn fat

Bad news for dieters: a new study has found that a chemical found in chilies touted as a weight loss may not help as much as the manufacturer wants people to think. Skip related contentThe chemical called dihydrocapsiate, is "a great tool for weight management," said Jun Tashiro on Japanese food maker Ajinomoto, that the dietary supplement Capsiate Natura produces.

But researchers found the Pennington Biomedical Research Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, no change in body weight and an increase of only 50 more calories burned per day after people took a pill that with the chemical.

Scientists and nutritionists have been interested in dihydrocapsiate as a dietary supplement because it is closely related to capsaicin, the compound that produces a burning sensation when diners chilli peppers or spicy food.

While capsaicin is already shown to help raise metabolism, but because of the extremely hot taste, the less tantalizing dihydrocapsiate can offer an alternative.

Ajinomoto the recommended daily dose of Capsiate Natura, which is available only in the United States by doctors, 3 mg dihydrocapsiate contains.

That's the equivalent of 10 cayenne peppers, Tashiro said that most people can't eat because it disrupts their stomachs or they don't like the taste.

Researcher Eric Ravussin said his findings suggest that the effect of dihydrocapsiate is negligible.
Researchers gave 78 healthy men a pill with 0, 3, or 9 mg of the connection once a day for 4 weeks.
They found no change in body weight and only about 50 more calories burned per day instead of the 75 calories they had chosen as a target.

Ravussin noted that weight loss, by means of exercise or change of diet, to a lower metabolism since leads you want to move less weight, your body needs less calories per day.
"Taking this as a supplement might be helpful, but not very relevant for weight loss General," told Ravussin Reuters Health.

British schoolboy expose phony drugs via Twitter

A 15-year-old teenager from Wales has led to a global Internet campaign against a bogus "panacea" after posting warnings about it on the social networking site Twitter. Skip related contentRhys Morgan, a 15-year-old who suffers from the disease Crohn's disease, stumbled upon a substance called Miracle Mineral Solution (MMS) while looking for treatment for his condition, which causes swelling in the digestive tract.

"I heard about it while browsing a support forum for the Crohn's disease, which I was diagnosed with earlier this year," said Morgan AFP.

Cake or Death?

Two of my v. fave bloggers: Vin Miller on natural bias and Tom Naughton of FAT both happened to the post about the simple reason why Americans have been steadily getting fatter and fatter (and sicker and sicker) since the 1960s: sugar and carbohydrates.

Vin talks about regular sugar: "particularly in America, the modern diet is very high in sugar, and this is one of the main reasons why obesity, poor health and disease has become so prevalent. Did you know that the average American over 100 pounds of sugar per year eat? A.100. Pounds.

A big bag of food in General weighs 40 kg.  More than 2 thereof. Of sugar. Per year. go to the supplier of your pet food of choice and take a look at 2 of those bags. It will give you nauseate.
And if you are against yourself says: "Oh not me ... I hardly eat sweets!"HalYes, you do it is not only candy bars and pie. look at the ingredient label for your katsup, your mayonnaise, your BBQ sauce, your spaghetti sauce. Hell, check out the label of your Campbell's Tomato Soup!

Did you look is the first ingredient of KFC'S with the new "healthy" grilled chicken that you congratulations just or about choosing on the baked sugar?

Please bear in mind that refined grain products, such as flour or high fructose corn syrup, sugar, too.
"If you have a moment to consider how many processed foods, most people consume on a regular basis, the reason why so many of them suffer from obesity and poor health must be clear. sugar and refined carbohydrates are an important ingredient in almost all modern food being consumed in record proportions. Many people are not aware of the associated risks and even believes that highly refined foods such as bread and pasta are healthy choices! "

Sugars, starch and carbohydrates all the same awful thing to do to our bodies. They spike our blood sugar, get stored as fat, lead to an insulin reaction, press, when your blood sugar level bottoms out an hour later, you starved hungry again ... begin the cycle again.

Please bear in mind that your fat cells are not as pots of marbles. it's not like if you have a second helping of Red Velvet cake only eat it will save your body as fat-some marbles decline in the fat jar.
NO!Your body moves constantly all day and night, no matter if you thick or thin, this glucose marbles in and out of your fat cell pots.  They are small dynamic systems, constantly collecting fat and let your body cells not wait until the flight safety in order to get their energy, they get it all the time. Energy is released from one way or the other-the snack bar of the low-fat, organic, whole grain vegan you just choked down with a cup of soy "milk", of the fat in your fat cells, even of the protein in your own muscles-to "feed" of your body all cells. All day and all night. It doesn't matter if you're the Kiera knightly or Michael Moore.

So how is it that some of us get fat?
Vin says: "Sugar is our main source of energy and when consumed, can be converted into glycogen and saved for future use. However, many people consume an excessive amount of carbohydrates that are significantly higher than their storage capacity for glycogen, and when this happens, the sugar due to carbohydrate digestion is stored as body fat. The large amount of sugar and refined carbohydrates in processed foods exist is the main reason for this excess and the people who consume on a regular basis are often considerably overweight."

But it's not that they eat carbohydrates, right?I mean that everything of whole wheat bread and low-fat and lean meats are good for us, right? it's because fat people just eat too much.America is thicker cuz that modern Americans cannot be trusted not to Supersize, right?

NO! Diet concept has FAILED
.
As Tom says: "we don't eat too much because we more greedy than our grandparents. We eat too much because in the 1970s the McGovern Commission us convinced we need to live in the first place on low fat grains and other starches. We eat too much because our insulin levels too high. we eat too much because we have too many calories as fat are save.

In other words, we eat too much because we're too damn hungry.

But your Carb addicts who you can't tell? how many of you have seen low carbers of human eyes glaze over when you say: "no bread"?I must confess that I am just amazed that people just refuse to listen and believe all prove that their cookies, pies, chips, crackers, bagels, pasta, wraps, crusts, rolls and bread not only making them obese, but damaging their health.

But they will look at those of us who have lost surprising amounts of weight, seeing that we are thinner, healthier, more energy-but especially not hungry!-but they refuse to give their Carb Vin: stool.

"Minimizing the consumption of sugar and refined carbohydrates is truly one of the easiest ways to lose weight, but many people are not willing to give processed foods and want to compromise their health even further by instead overexercising."

It's sad, and what's worse is that the FDA would help instead of hurting the health of Americans, but won't. Vin pointed out: "such as the food and enjoy incredible profit of sugar, and the benefits of the pharmaceutical industry of all health problems it causes, the rest of us in a never-ending cycle of wanting more sugar, more weight is increasing, and still less healthy.

Tom summed it up best: "from a perspective of the public order, the focus should be shifted to encouraging people to dramatically reduce their consumption of carbohydrates; that, and the" eat less "will take care of itself. but in a country where sugar, wheat and maize are all subsidized by the taxpayers, I don't expect this kind of policy shift to happen anytime soon."

Unfortunately, I think this is true.

Once again, here are the links to the posts of Vin Miller on natural bias and Tom Naughton of FAT head that I have cited. check them out they rawk.
* Thanks to the fantastic Eddie Izzard for this line I snarked. it made the perfect blog title and he is an amazing person who deserves the linky love!

Butter-vs-hydrogenated hormone filled oils, erm, margarine

Wonderful article about butter-vs-margarine here.

I love the opening lines: "why anyone would still like to eat margarine is beyond me. serious."
Indeed. Margarine is coagulated death. not only is it loaded with hydrogenated oils, it is often soybean oil (and you can have your female hormones to yourself, thanks, and my kids not getting each either).

If you're past the wincingly terrible grammar gaffe * (twice! get can) of the use of "consists of", the rest of the post as fab.

The author details carefully what is terrible on margarine: chemical solvents used to produce that trans-fatty acids, for example, and what is beautiful about butter:

"... short chain and medium chain fatty acids derived from butter antimicrobial and immune-enhancing benefits to the eater. [snip]

Butter is rich in vitamins and minerals that are not present in margarine. For example, is real butter rich in vitamin A – a vitamin that is critical for the reproductive health and vital for both babies still developing in their mothers ' wombs and young children. Butter is rich in vitamin e, vitamin K, vitamin d and the mineral selenium ... "

Personally, I switched my whole family to real butter at the end of last year – a hard row to hoe for a person as frugal as I am-and in bulk packages of restaurant format buy. I am convinced, however, that is best for my family, and by golly, our food tastes better!I replaced olive oil in the kitchen and the use of butter mainly as a spread/garnish.I also noticed that we are far less butter on food than margarine. quality over quantity!

You still Use margarine? Why? And if you've switched, what do you do to offset the higher costs of using real butter?

Christina Hendricks Might Be diet: should We Stop Talking About Her curves?

Photo: wenn.com

We love Christina Hendricks. And her body. But we have got to be honest: we are pleased that we are not.Having that much emphasis on our figure would drive us crazy, and our incredibly self-confident. But, Yes — when your bid is that rockin', it's bound to turn some heads.

That's why we're not quite shocked by the rumor that Christina is started dieting. No, they don't need. Yes, she looks great as she is.But with everyone talking about how terribly unique her hips, buttocks and tits are in Hollywood, the only people feel a bit nervous.

We suggest a shift in the focus of Christina's turns to her entire person. Last we checked, her acting skills were free of the usual well. maybe if the media obsessed about her weight stopped, they could prevent the pressure on a diet of all together. we know that if we thought that our only attribute was a voluptuous body, we are sick of getting the attention as well.

I want to be around to see my grandchildren!

Super good post by Rebecca on skinny dreams about how you owe it to your children to get fit.

She doesn't pull punches and I agree 100%:

"I'm tired of seeing parents who can't be bothered to get fit. These people have children who need and depend on them, but they still complain that diet is too difficult, they don't want to give of their favorite foods, and they can't find the time to practice.

Now, before one of these parents who can't be bothered up in arms over my saying this, I'll say that I was one of those parents! I got a little more weight with each child and was therefore completely obese that it was a struggle to get off of my fat ass and do something. "

I was also this parent! after my last child, I weighed 322 pounds and was largely (pun intended) responsible for keeping Krispy Kreme in business.

And you know what?  It's pure self absorption and self indulgence. Two weeks after my last was born I looked at my grotesque itself and the huge plate carb-of-the-moment crap I had in my hands and I thought: "do you really care more about the short moments of feel-good that this gives shit you will then have your very own babies?"

I had 5 children because I wanted them. Some days it's all I can do to help keep the screaming in annoyance and frustration, but I soldier on because I adore them and they are really good kids and tomorrow I will have a better day. breastfeeding 5 babies because I chose to. Initially it was not fun or easy and I suffered through thrush, bad locks and all, but I stuck with it because it's the best for my kids (and if you click through the tough first few weeks were infinately easier than bottles works).I quit my job and our family income halved.  The bloody difficult was (and still is) to rely on my own thrift, but it was so important for me to create my own children.

I made all these big, tough decisions and yet I couldn't stop myself from eating another 100 calorie pack death-by-carbohydrates chips?! I was eating myself in the grave.

So I gave it all.All the grains, all the sugars, all refined foods. And, Yes, it was bloody rude. Rebecca put it this way:

"Yes, exercise is hard work. And oppose the possibilities to binge on sweets and junk food can be challenging.Losing weight and fit is certainly not easy! But it's worth, I've been doing this for myself, but I do this also for my family.Remaining fat and not something about my deteriorating weight to do would be just selfish of me. "

When my friends talk about baking pies, noshing on chocolate, sipping latte grandes on coffee houses, I just think about the last time I stepped into a Wal-Mart and watched the obese parents shuffle to the check out with their bread and cookies pasta and chips and sugary soft drinks, their carb-loaded ' diet ' stuff and low-fat ' FrankenFood horrors.

And I look for my sweet children.

Why wear your safety belt in the car? Why you do not smoke? Why do you both ways before crossing a street? because if you're not wearing a seat belt, smoke, or fail to watch where you're going, you have an excellent chance to die. And if you die, who is gonna take care of your children?
It doesn't matter how you do it: low fat, low carbs, counting calories, insane workouts. it doesn't matter how you look at it: get in a size 4 is not the point. it's not even just about what you eat. Buckle that belt, put down that cigarettes, moving your body, get outside and get some Sun.
The point is that you need to be around as long as possible for your children. and that means taking care of yourself instead of indulging your selfish whims. you can, but you have to stop all the excuses to finally. do you have to do it.

Today on the report "Diet DUH":

"Doctor's efforts to combat childhood obesity does not work."

YA THINK?

Duh-huh, No shit people., Sherlock.

"Friday, September 4th (HealthDay News)--researchers recommend that officials in the United States, United Kingdom and Australia her consider their efforts to combat childhood obesity, because the current strategies--emphasis on healthy diets and physical activity--don't work.

In a study released online 4 september in BMJ, Australian researchers followed more than 250 overweight and mild obesity Australian children that their family doctors visited between 2005 and 2006. a total of 139 were given counseling of more than three months about changing their eating habits and increasing exercise; the other 119 did not get such counseling.

Parents said the kids who drank less soda counseling received, but they are not eating more fruits or vegetables or less fat, and they don't lose large amounts of weight.

The researchers reported that short, physician-led intervention produced no long term improvement in body mass index, physical activity and eating habits.

The guidance is not harmful, the authors of the study noted, but it doesn't seem to work and is expensive.

"Funds can be better shared between primary prevention in the community and the population level, and the improvement of clinical treatment options for children with established obesity," the researchers concluded. "
Number one, O great community of medical/diet, and for the thousandth time, DIETARY FAT is not the issue. So thank God they not eating less fat.
Number two, (and here is the "duh" bit) you are TALKING to the wrong people, people!
(Sorry to scream, but this is just as stupid.)
Let me go and say, for the record.  It is the cure for obesity.Srsly.What a revelation and I'm sharing it with you, the medical community! I will even type ... really ... slow ... so ... you ... .... can get….
Are you ready?
Blue of treatment for Childhood Obesity Epidemic:

> PARENTING >

Yup.That's it. that's all.

The kids don't speak.Which child is listening to anything any raised has to say right?Don't expect the community to do something miraculous and curing obesity. certainly not look at the Government!
No.Obesity begins at home.

Start with what mama stuffs in her face while pregnant (Krispy Kreme anyone?), to what she offers the day he is born baby (breast milk which is of course full of nutrients and fats [FAT] and very low in sugars [lactose]? Or formula that is loaded with soy, cereals and sugar [corn syrup]?

Parents decide whether she will feed their babies vegetables first, or just start with the sweet fruit ("because she loves them and eat as well when we feed her peaches 3 times a day!"They decide whether only milk or water in the bottle or just say "forget it! He cry and the juice settles him always down!

Parents decide whether Turkey and cheese sandwiches to whole wheat with rhizomes or just throw a Lunchable and a sports drink in their children's book bag, or worse, just let them eat the swill that the school serves (hey high fructose corn syrup sauce katsup is a vegetable, right?)

Wake up, world. aligning to make medical community. Open your eyes, nutritionists.
Parenting can END childhood obesity.

We have only parents to tell the truth. let them know what kind of crap they are feeding their children. educate the public about the dangers of soy and seed oil and HFCS. Help them combat of the agro-food industry and the Government nutrition standards and demand good food in the stores.

What do you think? that's all it takes? Only parents to intensify? what are your suggestions for ending/combating childhood obesity? I would like to hear your opinion!

To Sugar Binge

Last night we had what amounted to an orgy of sugar.

Once we leave a party went to the store specifically to buy the sugar.Fully knew was buy a excessive on because I have more or less had the desire of an orgy in the back of my head for awhile. Desire has only been laid there quietly in the back of my mind throwing thoughts to me, me to do what used to make mendicidad. The stress and the crappiness had recently reinforced only that deseo. So I went to the store and bought things with the intention of filling I until I felt ill.

The bad news is that I did exactly that: my face with sugar and fat fills up I felt sick and mad at me for doing so.

The good news is that it was not so bad: has already been so long since a binge or any actual excess am not able to consume the same amounts of alimentos. One orgy of sugar for me now is much smaller and therefore, less harmful in general my weight loss progress.

And what's more? It was not even about the food. For me binges were never of foods, even if the food was "nice".

Although it wasn't a huge binge, still did me that feel the same way. I felt excited at first, and then began to feel full, began to feel sick, then started feeling bad for what he had done. It was the classic cycle used to darken my days more often in the past. It is no secret that I have dealt with the binge eating - is one of the reasons why I became obese.I thought that had enough kicked to the curb, but it is its something I am still occupy.

After the last binge I was that was angry with the same. I wanted to be mad at myself.I could have placed the blame on some innocent bystander, but knew that you could have said no to any point in the process. I could've stopped myself. But which probably was the whole reason why I did in the first place - I give a reason to be mad at myself. And then I wanted to stay mad for notices of Kepa I I I must deal with more compassion.

It felt angry with me on drunkenness and I felt physically sick borrachera. Having sugar and fat at the same time literally made me feel physically sick (and made me wonder how in the world never used to eat as much before). A regret that I did know is going to be the result of the orgy, when finally happened around thought me miserable. To that end I got what I thought he wanted, but really not. It was when I started feeling poorly that I realized that really didn't want to feel bad (what because honestly, who wants to feel bad?).

KEPA and I decided to write something for ourselves and for us once ate for what we consider good this week instead of housing on how occurred the excess sugar and let that they ruin the week.We wrote:

Weekend last, we feel horrible after a binge of sugar.

Next week we will feel excellent because it will have done these things:
Without sugar.
Not fast food.
Gym every day.
We will not decrease these successes.
We wrote to down and put it on the wall where we can see it. I am a very visual person and need to be reminded visually things like this. Like someone is still learning how to deal with emotions and stress in a healthy way, I have to remind myself of these things. Therefore we have created a record. This post is a reminder for me, so I don't want to do it again and I would like to do things that improve my body feeling and work.

I'm about to feel bad by excessive intake of food a day. I will not have swept it under the carpet and pretend that did not happen, because it did and I need to remember it and be prepared to stop the next time.

I've spent today to do the things that make me feel good (mentally and physically).

If you have struggled with binges before, how to recover after? What do to treat yourself better and feel better?

Comprehensive body monitors for total health and fitness.
The results are analyzed along with gender, age, height and weight for the most accurate and comprehensive at-home reading ever available. Other measurement include weight, body fat percentage, body water percentage, and bone mass.
Why You Should Monitor Body Water and Fat Percentage
If you're like most people, you're not drinking enough water. If you wait until you feel thirsty, your body is already suffering from the effects of mild dehydration. You continually lose water during the day through sweat, urine and breathing. The amount varies due to several reasons, including your physical activity level, illness, medications, poor nutrition, or even climatic conditions. Monitoring your body water percentage allows you to quickly compensate if your levels are low, allowing your body to function more efficiently. Having the right amount of water in your body will not only make you feel healthier, but you'll also reduce your risk of developing serious health problems in the longer term.

Different nuts such as peanuts, almonds, nuts and olive oil celebrate this type of fat. Then there are polyunsaturated fats. Do exactly the same as the Monosaturated fat, but are found more in seafood, Omega-3 foods and oils such as sunflower oil. Then there are saturated fats. These increase bad cholesterol in your body. These fats are commonly found in meat and dairy products. Finally there are trans fats. These are found in fried foods, margarine and prepacked foods.

The truth
It's really United States dietary guidelines that individuals must get up to 30 percent of their calories from fat. Most of the fats are essential as vitamin A, vitamins D, E and sure have noticed that millions of people have come to this situation of diets low in fat. It isn't fat that makes you obese. Weigh in: no, but yes

Welcome to a happy life! If you're new, subscribe for future updates. Thank you for your visit!
This weekend was pretty fun.
Met with some friends from Auckland for lunch at the Sylvia Park. It was a matter little happy.

We also went to chill for a bit on the beach although it was very cold and windy.I can't wait until it warms up a bit on what I can I go swimming!

Really was a great end of great day. Here in that time we have fun and enjoyed the last bit of sunshine. Only to return to work next week holiday and I have to get cracks work applications and line of work.
But that is not the main point of this post!. therefore moving on….
Weigh in
Current weight: 206.0 pounds
205.6 Pounds of weight (2 weeks ago) previous:
Weight: kg loss of + 0.4
Weight: - 45,0 lbs loss total
Starting Weight: 251
Weigh thoughts:

In two weeks I did nada. So, no significant benefit. All I've done is to maintain my weight.
On the one hand, this sucks! I am supposed to lose weight! I'm about to get past 200 and I am still not losing weight really overcome this stupid brand.

On the other hand, I'm not too bothered.I am maintaining my weight which is very comforting. I've been in this weight for a while now, walking down 45 pounds (approximately) no matter what I do (or not to exercise, eat much or not), so it is really good to know that I have lost that weight forever. I am pleased to know I am not bloat again and really and truly I moved to this next stage of things for good.
But only stay here is not what I want.I do not weigh more than 200 kg in the rest of my life. So I'm moving and change things.

Things I'm doing so things are:

Plan of food.I have finished planning meals for the week and know exactly what I'm going to eat and cuándo.La week meal plan and advances the previous week did not more or less killed due to my lack of attention to what was eating.

Counting calories.I am so bad at counting calories and nutrition tracking, but I will hacerlo.Nota aside: it would be nice if you could get full access daily which is what I am using, but I don't have extra money to pay for ello.Mon Daily Burn burning!

Starts training Triathlon. OMG.This is really huge for dear me. He do a triathlon therefore time: is actually my goal found 1.He number one in Auckland this summer which is slightly less than a sprint distance and women only - perfecto.Es begin with the perfect race and I'm very emocionado.Así I will start this week of training for ello.será definitely writing more information thereon in the coming months, but I'm very excited because I am finally going to do it (even if I have to walk part of execution).

Final thoughts:

No progress on the scale of this week, but we have plans to get it finally movimiento.Y these plans include something that I always wanted to do, General that I am very excited about things that are rising.
How was your weekend?
